Sek Wannamethee was Thai Ambassador to Belgium and accredited to Luxembourg as well as Head of the Thai Mission to the EU (2021-2023). He served previously as Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva (2017-2021), plus two earlier postings in Geneva.  He also served as DCM/Minister in Washington DC (2009-2011). At headquarters, he was Director-General of Information and spokesperson for foreign affairs (2013-2017); and Director-General of the American, Latin America, Pacific Dept (2012-2013).  He is currently in the private sector as a Board member of several Thai companies including a leading Thai conglomerate in food; a logistics company in utility and power; and council member of a Thai university.
